The Gift Shop and Nursery are open daily from 10 AM to 4 PM. To reach the gift shop or nursery, call (760) 436-3036, ext. 208. QBG members receive a 10% discount on all gift shop or nursery purchases.
Quail Botanical Gardens Gift Shop and Nursery are staffed entirely by Docents and Volunteers and are open 7 days a week. If you are interested in working in the Gift Shop and are able to volunteer at least 3-4 hours a month please call 760-436-3036 x 209.
Gift shop merchandise is selected to reflect the botanical theme. Some items you might expect to find there include:
- Clothing, including T-shirts, ties, hats, aprons and children's items
- Stationery items, posters, note cards (many that are hand-made), magnetic memo pads, and postcards.
- Bamboo poles in different lengths
- Original Nature Print Cards are uniquely handcrafted by Quail Botanical Gardens Volunteers. They are real works of art - no two are alike.
- The Pressed Flower Note Cards are packaged with 4 different designs.
- Gifts - a variety of unique and interesting products, like vases, mugs, jewelry, ornaments, baskets, coasters, wind chimes, planters and planter decorations.
- Books - all reflect The Gardens' botanical theme. Topics include bamboo, herbs, ornamental grasses, and water gardening. We carry exceptional gardening books, including the San Diego Horticultural Society's Ornamental Trees of San Diego by Steve Brigham and Don Walker, and Pat Welsh's Southern California Gardening Book , and a variety of informative and entertaining children's books.
Many of the plants in QBG's nursery are propagated by volunteers or purchased from local specialty growers. The inventory is constantly changing and often includes California native plants, cork oaks, dragon trees, succulent wreaths and other decorative plantings made by our Docents.
